Beaches vs Beach Clubs : Whats the difference?
-----------
Most everyone knows what a beach is : Water, sand (or pebble or platform), and maybe umbrellas and sun loungers and not much else. There might be a cafe nearby and hopefully some showers and toilets too, but not always.
A beach club is a beach combined with a private club, designed to provide a very comfortable environment with many amenities and services for visitors to enjoy. Beach clubs provide access to the sea, along with features such as swimming pools, restaurants, bars, lounges, games and toys, water sports rentals, and some even have spa services.
They are a very popular destination for Kalkan visitors looking to relax, socialize, and enjoy leisure activities in a coastal setting. Kalkan’s clubs vary widely in terms of their offerings and atmosphere, from casual and family-friendly to upscale and exclusive. Some are quiet while some feature music. There are many special events throughout the year with guest DJs, live bands and much more.

KaputaÅŸ beach, known for its beauty is nestled at the foot of a striking mountain gorge, surrounded by magnificent towering cliffs is just 7km’s from Kalkan. Arriving by boat and avoiding the stairs is an option for a lucky few but the most economical is to take the inexpensive public transport there. The southbound dolmuÅŸ will also get you there very inexpensively. Beds, umbrellas, cafe and toilet facilities are all available. During the height of the season, due to its beauty, KaputaÅŸ can get extremely busy. Best to arrive in early or late hours to avoid the crowds.

Patara beach, the long 18km stretch of golden sandy coastline dotted with dunes is one not to be missed. The protected beach, the restored ruins of ancient Patara, the lighthouse and parts of the dunes form a national park and is a breeding ground for the giant Caretta Caretta. Because of this conservation project, and the fact that Patara is a National Park, you will be charged a reasonable entrance fee per person; however, you will not be disappointed, Patara has been voted as one of the top beaches in the World.
If you are looking to visit in July & August, please keep in mind the sand can be extremely hot, especially for little ones. Also, take care when swimming as there are strong undercurrents.
