Kalkan offers a range of healthcare services for travelers. There are a number of doctors, dentists and a health clinic located throughout the town with hospitals being further afield in KaÅŸ and Fethiye.
​​Kalkan Chemists and Pharmacies
There are 4 pharmacies within Kalkan and several more in nearby villages. For most people with minor ailments, the pharmacist is the first port of call for basic healthcare.
The 4 in the resort are all within a few mins walking distance from each other, 2 are along the main hill thru town and the other 2 located along Kalamar road. Pharmacies are normally open 8:30am - 6:00pm, however one of the 4 within the resort will be open 24/7. If you need any medication or assistance, there will always be a pharmacy open.
Taxis and local residents normally have apps on their phones - if you ask they will point you to the one that is open. Alternatively, go to anyone of them; if closed, a sign on the window will point to the open one.

Pharmacists on duty are capable of basic diagnosis and advice. If anything complex, they will direct to a doctor or hospital as needed.

Kalkan Doctors & Health Centre
While Kalkan does not have a full hospital, we have our very own health center with 4 qualified and experienced doctors.
Doctors Cem Tolunay, Ahmet Akın Kara, Orçun Çoban and AyÅŸe Çeliker staff the health center 5 days a week (9am - 5pm) with a short break for lunch (12:30 - 1:30). They also have duties in nearby villages so they may not all be present at all times.
Strictly speaking the health centre is there to serve local residents at no cost, however they have always done their best to deal with tourists who have medical issues on a case by case basis. If you have any issues that are persisting, you need a prescription for an ailment or something more serious, grab your passport and head to the health center for a quick assessment.
The facility was built with donations and could do with some more equipment. Donations are not mandatory but very much appreciated, please give from the heart.

If you need medical attention when the health centre is closed, a Whatsapp message/call to one of the following 2 doctors is recommended.

They do offer private medical help and will come to you if need be, to assess and triage.
For absolute critical emergencies, dial 112 for an ambulance.
Important : If you call an ambulance, you will be taken to KaÅŸ Hospital (20 mins away). This hospital is a small local hospital
and the English proficiency of the staff is not high. More importantly, while they can deal with emergencies, they are not fully equipped to deal with all cases; chances are you will get redirected to Antalya (3.5h away) if the issue is something they are unable to handle.

If at all possible, see a doctor (above) before calling an ambulance.
This will give our doctors the opportunity to do a quick triage. If not critical, they may be able to put you into a taxi and send you to a private hospital in Fethiye, only 1h away and a lot more convenient.
If it's not possible to see a doctor before going, try to arrange for a
Turkish speaker to follow you to KaÅŸ hospital to ease communications issues.
Lastly : Kalkan also has a private physician available and on call 24/7.
