Visiting Kaş, our neighbour

To reach Kaş, you have several options.

​

1. Some people walk and bike there, its 25km away. Perfectly doable for fit individuals but not practical in the heat of the summer.

2. Some people thumb a ride since the road to Kaş has many cars going to Kaş and picking up a ride is easy but not to everyone's taste nor sensibilities.

3. If you have a rental car, you can drive there in about 20-25 mins but parking can be challenging. The main part of town is densely crowded and parking can be difficult unless you get there during non peak times.

4. Taxi's are the most sensible options for visitors. Clean, cool, comfortable. Ask your favourite taxi driver and he'll arrange to get you there. Expect to pay somewhere around £25 each way.

5. Last but not least, public minibuses are also a very viable option. Inexpensive (not much more than £1), frequent minibuses go from out from Bus Station/Otogar and Kaş town. You can also catch this minibus in town, right across from the Migros Jet, on the upper roundabout. The noted times are from the otogar. Add 5 mins to that time, for Town stop.

Pro Tip: The drive between Kalkan & Kaş is stunning. Get yourself a seat on the right side while going and left side while coming back, for the best views.

Finally, a mini warning about choice #5 : it's hot, people sweat when they are hot. Public transport means sitting close to people who have sweat because its hot, sometimes you have no choice but to touch people who have sweat because its hot.
